The Official Land Anthem of the UNCCD, “Born From The Land” was released on World Soil Day as a reminder that soil is a vital part of the land that is the basis for human health and livelihoods, and our economic, cultural and spiritual well-being.
Grammy® award winning Musicians Ricky Kej and Baaba Maal, another UNCCD Land Ambassador, perform the song, which also features Lonnie Park and IP Singh.

Ricky Kej was named the "UN Refugees - Goodwill Ambassador" in India by the
United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in 2022.

RICKY has been supporting UNHCR by mentoring and providing opportunities for refugees who are musicians, since 2019. As a global artist and musician, Ricky uses his music to spread the message of kindness and tolerance.

The launch of the initiative was held at WHO headquarters with Ricky Kej, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO's Director-General, and Malcolm Johnson, Deputy Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union.
